Food was pretty good, and the place has a feel of a natural scottish pub. Would love to try some of their other things next time I am in the area.

Waitstaff was nice as well as the outdoor seating.

Slow service and perhaps the worst mussels I have ever been served.  Description was creamy lemongrass and sweet chili broth.  More like cream with sugar syrup and no spice.  I ate about 6 mussels total, and when I advised the waitress that they weren't edible, no effort was really made to reconcile the issue.  To top it off she charged us for the full portion I ordered.

Visited for my 48th birthday and I seem to have found the only venue in Scotland that can make a mess of a salad....

Ordered the Caesar and the chicken in it was so dry and hard that it was literally inedible - sent it back to be changed for something else but after over ten minutes waiting I gave up and finished my wife's meal

This coupled with the attitude and intimidating manner of the staff, and that the starter was from budget frozen produce that had been dropped in a fryer for 4 minutes means that this is the poorest showing Inverness has at the moment.... It's place as one of the best pubs in Inverness is in real danger because everyone else has raised their game, whereas Foxes have gone backwards

Certainly not my favorite stop. We actually popped in a bit early for dinner, not knowing that the kitchen was closed. Instead of venturing back out into the cold and wind, we decided to post up at a table, pints in hand, until we could order dinner.

By the time the kitchen opened, we were starving. We ordered the Haggis & Neep Spring Rolls to share. I got the day's special (a burger), and my husband ordered the Steak & Guinness Pie.

It took quite a bit of time for the food to start to trickle out of the kitchen, considering we were one of the first parties to place a meal order. I definitely enjoyed the "spring rolls" the most. They were more of an "eggroll" when you get right down to it, but at least they had good flavor. An order comes with three rolls, each served on top of a creamy sauce. They were perfectly deep-fried, and not too oily. I could taste the haggis (it held up well being deep-fried), but the turnip flavor was completely gone.

Still, it was much better than the daily special, which looked as though it would be super moist and tasty, but in reality was dry and difficult to choke down. It had an off flavor that left me feeling a bit wonky - it definitely wasn't "gamey", as I've eaten and enjoyed wild-caught game in the past. I couldn't put my finger on it, but it was very unpleasant and I didn't end up finishing the sandwich. The fries were nice and crispy, though, and made up the bulk of my meal.

My husband seemed to like his pie, which was served as a bowl of steak and Guinness stew, topped with a puff of dough. It came with fries and a pile of peas.

The drink menu was at least decent enough to rate a star or two, and my husband liked his meal, so that's where the two-star rating comes from. I definitely wouldn't go back, between my not-so-good meal and the flighty waitress.

Great pub with bar food that was delicious. To be honest we weren't expecting the food to be that good but we were very pleasantly surprised. They even have great gluten free options. Our friend had gluten free fish and chips which she absolutely loved. We had mussels to start and I had the special of the day, pan fried salmon with a mustard cream sauce with mushrooms and tots, which was super tasty.
